About You

Yeah, you on the couch,” because you’re confused abut low-car/no-carb or if your mind still plays like your 25 but you recuperate like your 45, with a few simple changes, I’ll show you how to loose that middle while gaining more energy and endurance.

About Me

Nutritional Counseling has been a life long journey for meaning and fulfillment in my work life as well as in my family life. The road has led to a shift from a successful Wall Street career to business manger of Parenting Horizons, to studies at the School for Practical Philosophy, the Rudolf Steiner Institute, a nine-month course The Pfeiffer Center for Biodynamic Agriculture, six-month course with Marc David, M.A. Psychology of Food, ten years of cooking classes at The Natural Gourmet and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I became certified in 2005 as a Nutritional Counselor. Upon graduation I joined my classmates for a thee-week immersion intensive in India. In 2008 I completed a three-week intensive: Healing with Whole Foods with Paul Pitchford.

My nutritional awareness came in with a bang in 1992. In the middle of the night I took myself to the emergency room leaving behind my husband and 4-year old son. The pressure and pain in my brain was unbearable. The cat scans and lumbar punctures revealed that I was a migraine sufferer.

Life was in typical overdrive. Wall Street executive, child in daycare, husband also on Wall Street. Little did I know that this moment would be the beginning of a long and painful transition whose “slap-in-the-face” awakening would shine a light and challenge my life long fundamental beliefs. I was living a lie. I was not feeding my soul but my materialistic accumulations, my 401K plan, my own insecurities of “am I good enough”.

Time passed – my son’s adolescent clashed with my menopause and bi-weekly migraines. My interest in nutrition and balance was becoming more applicable and soon it became evident that the cracks in my marriage were not being repaired with marriage counseling. With sadness in 2006 our marriage of 20 years came to a close.

However, throughout our family’s tumultuous struggles we all benefited from my schooling. My son converted from a “beige food junky” (bagels, pasta, white bread) to a organic whole food diet and is now mostly a vegetarian as he cooks his way through college. My x-husband thanks me today for all the nutritional and lifestyle changes my education brought into his life.

And with grace, gratitude and dignity I embrace my life to it’s fullest living more in balance and loving each and every day. My food choices have changed; eating foods that build strong bones, eliminating refined sugars and gaining sky rocket energy! If a migraine rears it’s ugly face, I know it’s my body’s way of telling me I am out of balance.
